In response to ChatGPT Google announces Bard and Microsoft responds forcefully

Home

We may have noticed the increasing popularity of ChatGPT, the AI-powered conversation robot, which Microsoft has invested heavily in, and which shook Google's throne in a literal sense of the word. Many of us have relied heavily on ChatGPT in recent days, and have only resorted to Google occasionally, due to the ease of obtaining what is needed in an amazing way. However, it seems that Google has caught on early and did not delay much, and the latter has brought out what is in its bag of AI technologies and announced the launch of the chat robot Bard. Both companies are working on adding these AI technologies to their respective search engines.

Google announced yesterday Tuesday about Bard, a Chatbot AI conversation project based on artificial intelligence, which Google was already working on. It is not a newcomer, it is based on Google's LaMDA language program, designed to run its own chatbot, which one of the engineers described as resembling a human in his responses. This service is currently experimental for Google Search and is expected to be available to the public in the coming weeks."

What is LaMDA ?

The word LaMDA, an acronym for Language Model for Dialogue Applications or a language model for conversation applications, is a basic AI-based system developed by Google. It is designed to build conversational AI systems, such as chatbots that can understand and respond to human language. LaMDA uses advanced machine learning techniques to analyze and understand natural language inputs and generate relevant responses. The aim is to provide developers with an easy-to-use platform for building conversational AI applications, so they can focus on creating amazing user experiences and innovative new applications, and it seems that its scope will expand after the emergence of ChatGPT.

Microsoft responds to Google by making ChatGPT available on Bing and the Edge browser

According to Google, "Bard was designed to bring together the breadth of knowledge in the world with the power, intelligence, and creativity of our large language models, providing high-quality responses, which is exactly what ChatGPT does."

Bard will be launched with a lightweight version of LaMDA AI, which has been designed to be resourceful and provide the information and resources required in a broad and good manner as it does not require high computational power. The first release of Bard is undergoing testing now, and Google plans to make changes and improvements to it over time, and it will soon be available on Google search.

It's correct that Microsoft announced plans to add AI capabilities to its ChatGPT technology, as part of its efforts to incorporate AI into Bing and Edge. Microsoft stated that it plans to launch a completely new AI-powered Bing search engine and an AI-supported Edge browser, which are now available for preview on Bing.com. The goal is to provide better search results and a more comprehensive experience with a new chat experience and content creation capabilities.

The CEO of Microsoft, Satya Nadella, said, "Artificial intelligence will fundamentally change every category of software, starting with the largest, which is search."

Microsoft says its new OpenAI model, which is being used, is stronger than ChatGPT, and has been tailored for search. The AI model is considered faster, more accurate, and more capable.

The updated Bing search engine is available with ChatGPT integration starting today Tuesday, with limited preview capabilities. Users can try out the query models on the Bing website and sign up for the waiting list.

Microsoft plans to expand the scope of the preview to include millions of people in the coming weeks and a mobile phone experience will be available for preview soon.
