The world of technology has turned upside down since Microsoft announced the integration of the latest version of the artificial intelligence bot ChatGPT into the Bing search engine and Edge browser.
For those who don't know, ChatGPT is an advanced bot from OpenAI that allows users to conduct complete conversations with it and receive reliable information, as if they were talking to someone with a great deal of knowledge and awareness.
That bot has rocked the balance and caught the attention of not only followers but also investors in the field of technology in general and artificial intelligence in particular, since it was released last November, to the point that Google was forced to compete by launching its own bot, called Bard, to keep up with the new trend in online search. And now Microsoft is offering new updates to its products based on artificial intelligence ChatGPT."
The integration of Microsoft's ChatGPT with Bing and Microsoft Edge is a significant development in the field of artificial intelligence. It brings a more natural and conversational approach to search results, allowing users to ask questions as if they were interacting with a real human being.
This integration leverages the latest advancements in AI technology and is a crucial step towards revitalizing Bing and increasing its market share against major competitors such as Google and Baidu.
Overall, AI technology has become increasingly responsible for shaping the biggest tech companies in the world, and we are living in a transformative moment in this field. It is exciting to imagine where AI technology will take us in the future and to what extent it will continue to evolve.
Microsoft says that the updated version of Bing search engine and Edge browser will bring together search, browsing, and chatting in a unified experience that you can access from any of your devices for quick, multiple results. That's all great, but I want to try that bot everyone is talking about and saying it's amazing!
Here are the following steps to know how to try the new Bing search engine with ChatGPT bot, which released its first version in recent days to a limited number of users, so you should join the waiting list to ensure it's available to you as soon as possible.
How to Try the New Version of Bing Search Engine
At first, open a web browser on your computer, and it is preferred to use Microsoft Edge, then go to the Bing Waitlist page, and click on "Join the waitlist." You will find it in large size in the middle of the page.
To join, you will need to use a Microsoft account, so enter your account information, and if you don't have one, create one. After completing, you will be redirected to the registration page again, where you will see the phrase "Great! You're on the waitlist."
You will receive an email message to your account to confirm that you are on the waitlist to test the new Bing search engine with ChatGPT bot.
To save time and bypass the waitlist to ensure faster access, Microsoft offers two methods as explained below.
After completing the registration, click on the "Access the new Bing faster" button to start the steps outlined in front of you.
The first step is to set Bing as the default search engine on your browser along with other modifications to make both Bing and Microsoft Edge the primary internet connection devices on your computer.
To avoid making these modifications manually, you can click on the "Microsoft defaults" button, and on the next page, click on "Install now".
A small-sized tool named "WebBrowsingOptimizer" will be downloaded.
Once you double-click on it, a list of modifications that will be applied to your device will be displayed.
Then, click "Accept" and wait until the progress bar reaches the end. This completes the first step successfully.
Also, note that if you use Google Chrome browser, instead of requiring you to download the previous tool, you will be prompted to install the Microsoft Bing Search for Chrome extension to complete the first step.
The second step involves installing the Microsoft Bing app on your Android or iPhone. You can search for it manually and download it on your phone or scan the QR code to directly redirect you to the app's page on the store.
After installing and launching the app, click on the profile icon at the top and log in using the Microsoft account that you registered with on the waiting list.
Keep in mind that the Bing app may not be available in all countries, so if you search for it in the app store and don't find it, you can bypass this issue by downloading the APK file and installing the app outside of the store if you're using an Android phone. However, if you're using an iPhone, you will need to use a VPN.
By following these steps, you'll be added to the waiting list to try the new Bing search engine with ChatGPT bot, and you'll also speed up your waiting process if you follow the aforementioned steps. We don't have any information on the waiting time or a specific date for when access to the new search engine will be open to all users, but Microsoft has confirmed that they will be expanding the number of users soon. Nevertheless, if you have chosen Microsoft to get early access to the new release, you will receive a confirmation email and after that, you'll be able to try the new Bing search engine with ChatGPT bot.
While you wait, you can try a sample of the new search engine's capabilities. After visiting the waitlist page, scroll down and you'll see a set of pre-selected queries to test ChatGPT on Bing search. You can click on any of them and see how the bot will respond to you in the search results.
The traditional results are displayed on half of the screen, and the other half presents the new chatbot to answer the question in detail with the help of artificial intelligence.
It's clear that there is a noticeable improvement in the quality and accuracy of search results, it feels like you're actually asking a real person, and you can ask anything literally.
We have available in this list that you can ask for suggestions for planning trips, help with writing code, writing poems and articles, and more options that have never been available in traditional search engines! All we can say is that we can't wait to see what artificial intelligence technology will take us next. We are witnessing a huge development that cannot be denied or ignored, and either a huge milestone in human history, or the beginning of their downfall if it gets out of control.
